MEMPHIS ARGENTINE TANGO SOCIETY ("MATS") MEMBERSHIP

Purpose.  The purpose of the Club is to promote the teaching, study, performance, and promotion of Argentine Tango Dancing, and matters relating to such activities.

Mandatory Dues.  The Club cannot carry out its purpose and activities without a regular and certain stream of dues paid by all Members.  Accordingly the following rules apply:

·        All Members are required to pay monthly dues, whether or not they attend practice sessions, milongas, lessons, or other Club events.  Dues are not assessed based on the number of times during the month that a person may choose to attend any particular practice or other event.  The current dues are $10 per month, and are subject to increase by the Club from time to time.

·        Members receive free practice time on Wednesday nights at TheatreWorks and free access to the milongas held at Mariallan’s and Margaret’s homes.

·        Members will also have first option of private lessons when MATS has visiting instructors.

·        All dues are payable monthly and should be paid upon entering any practice session, milonga or other Club event.

·        Non-Members: For those choosing not to become members of MATS, there will be a charge of $5 per practica or milonga attended.

Seasonal Members.  If any Member lives outside of the Memphis metropolitan area during any continuous period of three months or more during the calendar year, may request to be treated as a Seasonal Member of the Club, and shall be required to pay dues only during the time period during which he/she resides in the Memphis metropolitan area during the year.
